List of 10 football most valuable national championships

10/ Russian Premier League

As a tournament formed after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Russian national championship inherited an extremely good football background. Initially, it was built on the teams owned and invested by the Soviet state at that time. But, when transitioning to a market economy, Russian clubs began to gradually weaken and were still not familiar with the new way of working in modern football. However, that does not mean that Russia's highest division has lost to other tournaments. According to statistics of Transfermarkt, the Russian Premier League is worth 959 million euros, the 10th highest among the top leagues in the world.

To achieve that value, the Russian Premier League has begun to reform their youth training to produce a series of top players in the world. Many of them have become very famous names such as Alexander Golovin of AS Monaco, Aleksey Miranchuk of Atalanta or Yuri Zhirkov and Andrei Arshavin of the past. These players have left their reputation after growing up from the top training institutes of Aries country.

Thanks to the focus on youth training, Russian football has continuously achieved memorable achievements at the club level in the first half of the 21st century. In 2005, CSKA Moscow was crowned in the following UEFA Cup, when they beat Sporting Lisbon in the final at the Alvalade ground of the blue and white striped team. Three years later, it was Zenit St Petersburg's turn to defeat Rangers in the 2008 UEFA Cup final at the City of Manchester, later Etihad Stadium.

9/ Major League Soccer

MLS is still considered the nursing home of world football when bringing back names that have passed their peak. However, not so that the American professional football league lost its value. Even the MLS football ranked above the Russian national championship in terms of value when it had a total value of 966 million euros, ranking 9th in the rankings.

To understand why American clubs only bring in obsolete signings instead of using the money and power of the bosses to build the reputation of the league, we need to look at American football policy. First, unlike the top European leagues, the US does not let clubs open training courses and then bring players back to train from a young age. Instead, they used a pool of players from the universities competing in the NCAA, then held a draw to select players called the MLS Draft. As a result, young players always have the opportunity to join professional clubs, while preventing the occurrence of excessively high-value domestic contracts like Harry Maguire or Jack Grealish.

However, in recent years, American football has begun to focus more on players of American origin who were born abroad, or have been training in European training camps. For example, Sergiño Dest is a player who was  born and raised in the Netherlands but decided to play for the US national team because of his Suriname-American father. Or typically, Christian Pulisic  who was born and raised in the US spent most of his career in Europe. It can be said that thanks to this, American football is increasingly diversifying in terms of gameplay, thereby helping their team achieve very high achievements in the international arena in recent years. One of them is the CONCACAF Gold Cup Championship in 2021.

8/ Brazilian Serie A

The no.8 on this list is the Brazilian National Championship. The tournament is worth 1 billion euros according to Transfermarkt. The tournament has produced a lot of talents in the history of world football, and is the birthplace of the top superstars of Brazilian football such as Neymar who played for Santos before moving to Barcelona and PSG, Thiago Silva - a former student of the Fluminense. Farther in the past, one sees Ronaldo de Lima, Robinho, and so on.

Unlike the American professional championships, which seek talent from universities, Brazilian clubs seek talent from youth football tournaments, which are held in remote villages, called Favela in Portuguese. As soon as they find young players who are in difficult circumstances, they will immediately approach the families of this player to make attractive offers.

However, the lack of investment in the field as well as training facilities has made Brazilian football unable to develop a supply of domestic players, but must rely on football training centers in Europe. That is why after the 21st century, Selecao's gameplay has gradually lost the wild, improvisational spirit of the "Jogo Bonito" spirit of the 20th century. Instead, it is a game with a calculated appearance, and European football's over-emphasis on tactics. As a result, Brazilian players have to move abroad to look for opportunities instead of developing their ability to compete in the domestic league.

7/ EFL Championship

Although it is a league below the Premier League, it does not mean that the Championship has no value, even, it is ranked 7th in the top 10 most expensive leagues in the world. It is valued at 1.1 billion euros by Transfermarkt. To achieve this, the EPL Championship has followed a fairly correct policy of using itself as a training ground for young players for Premier League clubs through loan agreements.

Thanks to that, English football has discovered talents like Tammy Abraham - who played for Aston Villa when this team played in the first division. This is even a probationary place for coaches who are just starting their career like Frank Lampard - who worked as a coach at Manchester City before moving to Chelsea, or John Terry - who became an Aston Villa deputy under the leadership of Dean Smith.

6/ Liga Portugal

Valued at £1.2 billion by Transfermarkt, the Portuguese National Championship ranks sixth in the rankings of the most valuable tournaments.

With the biggest advantage being the Portuguese language - the main language of Brazilian players, the Portuguese Championship becomes a transit station for Brazilian talents on their journey to heaven. Many of them have become world football superstars such as Deco - who played for Benfica and Porto, or Diego Costa - who played very successfully with Braga.

However, the biggest and greatest star in the modern history of this tournament is not a Brazilian but a player from his own country. None other than the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo - the legend of both Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Not only a tournament that produces names on the pitch, Liga Portugal is also a competition to find excellent talents on the bench. One of them is Jose Mourinho - who won the UEFA Cup and then the Champions League with Porto before starting his great journey at the top clubs in the world.

5/ Ligue 1

The 5th in the top 10 is the French national championship which is valued at 3.6 billion euros. Despite being a famous tournament when owning Olympique Marseille, Olympique Lyon or Monaco in the past and Paris Saint-Germain of the present time, Ligue 1 before 2010 is still not overrated. It was not until PSG was supported by the owners of Qatar and then Monaco was bought by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, that League 1 officially joined the billion-euro tournament of football. They brought in a lot of blockbuster contracts like Thiago Silva, Marco Verratti, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Neymar, Mbappe, and so on.

However, that does not mean that League 1 did not have talent before. Even these talents are worth more than now. Specifically, in the early 21st century, France's top division has found the top talents of world football such as Ronaldinho, Karim Benzema - who shined brightly after leaving France.

4/ Bundesliga

Valued at €4.2 billion by Transfermarkt, the German National Championship is fourth on this list. To achieve such great value, Bundesliga live streaming fans must be grateful for the standard and methodical youth training policy of German football in the post-Euro 2004 period that can be considered the darkest period of German football history when eliminated from the group stage. Maybe after leaving Euro 2004 in an impossibly embarrassing way, the leaders of German football immediately embarked on the work of reforming the youth players throughout Germany, especially the football clubs such as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach. Thanks to that, German football has continuously produced world talents such as Marco Reus, Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels, Thomas Müller, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and so on.

However, it would be remiss not to mention another factor that made German football stronger in 2010. That is the diversification in terms of gameplay and the origin of German players. This was clearly seen in Germany's 2010 World Cup squad - a team that featured Turkish-born talent Mesut Ozil, Polish-born Lukas Podolski and Miroslav Klose, and a Tunisian-born German player Sami Khedira.

3/ Series A

Although it is no longer the top tournament in the world, a miniature World Cup like the 90s, Serie A is still in the top 3 most prestigious tournaments in the world. According to Transfermarkt's rankings, it is valued at £5 billion . Unlike its glorious past, the success of Serie A in the current period does not come from the wallets of rich owners, but most of it comes from the wallets of the rich owners, but most of it comes from young players developed from the leading training centers of the country of pasta. In this lineup of players, there are many famous names outside of Italy such as Marco Verratti - who has won every trophy with PSG, or Jorginho - who has just won the Champions League with Chelsea and is the owner of the title of the best player in Europe.

It can be clearly seen that the policy change of Italian football has brought much success to the home team in the last Euro - a Euro where Azoury did not lose even a single one in the group stage or knock out stage. But most importantly, the Italy of Euro 2020 has shown a change in gameplay when completely discarding the image of a defensive angel in the past. Instead, it was an elegant Italy on the offensive front with Chiesa and Spinazzola on the wing. Along with that is the certainty of a defense, where the bodyguard duo Bonucci and Chiellini hang out like two boulders in front of Donnarumma's goal.

2/ La Liga

The second in this list is the Spanish National Championship when it is valued at more than 5 billion euros by Transfermarkt. Perhaps we do not need to talk too much about La Liga because this is the home of two clubs rich in tradition, Real Madrid and Barcelona. The two training centers have brought a lot of talent to outstanding world football in the past and present. These can be mentioned as Fernando Redondo or Iker Casillas from Real Madrid or Xavi Hernández, Sergio Busquets, Andrés Iniesta, Lionel Messi of Barca.

However, the reputation of La Liga not only comes from the two big boys Real Madrid and Barca but also from clubs like Valencia. The team has twice reached the Champions League final in the seasons 99-2000 and 2000-2001. Or Deportivo de La Coruña - the team that created a seismic comeback against Arsenal in the 2003-2004 Champions League, a match that has become a classic of European football in the early 21st century.

1/ Premier League

That 9 billion Euro is the number given by Transfermarkt about the value of the English Premier League- the tournament ranks first in the list of the most valuable National Championships in the world. There is no doubt that the EPL is re-establishing the image of the glorious Serie A of the past. A tournament that brings together the top stars, the brightest stars in football - players come for a variety of reasons, whether looking for a new challenge or simply because of great material benefit resources.

However, because of this exaggerated buying and selling policy of the Premier League at the national team level, English football has not achieved many significant achievements. They were even eliminated from the group stage of the 2014 World Cup. However, the defeat of the 2014 World Cup still cannot compare with the pain of Euro 2016 when the Three Lions lost to newcomers Iceland in the round of 16.

It can be said that it was the last straw when English football players, especially EPL, started thinking about reforming youth training and bringing many domestic talents out of the country to help diversify England's play. Thanks to this right policy, Premier League clubs as well as the national team have found bright talents such as Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho of Manchester United, Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Reece James of Chelsea , or La Liga champion Kieran Trippier in the shirt of Atletico Madrid.

From this list, we partly see the formula for creating a top league in the world, especially in the modern football era. Thanks to a methodical training of young people along with a reasonable spending policy, major football tournaments in the world have found talents not only for the country but also for the national teams of the 6 football federations under FIFA.
